Flu

Flu Influenza means a contagious infection caused by a virus. The infection affects your respiratory tract. It may also afflict your gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. Outbreaks of the flu usually occur in winter between October and May. Influenza ranges from mild to severe and in some cases may result in hospitalization and even death. Symptoms include fever, coughing, and muscle aches. Treatment may include reduced activity, drinking ample water, painkillers, decongestants and Tamiflu.

	Symmetrel
	Symmetrel is used to prevent or treat the flu. Symmetrel may also be used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease, to reverse a certain type of side effect called an extrapyramidal reaction, or for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

	Tamiflu
	Tamiflu is an antiviral agent used to treat the flu (influenza A and B) in patients 1 year of age and older who have had symptoms for no more than 2 days. Oseltamivir is also used to prevent the flu in patients age 13 and over in the U.S. who must be in close contact with someone who has the flu, such as another household member. Tamiflu may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
